Ms. R. Rajalakshmi, Deputy Manager (EEMG) brought laurels for NTPC by winning the Special Jury award in MMA Competition for Outstanding Woman Manager of the year 2019. The Annual MMA Woman Manager's Convention is a celebration of the spirit of women and the many diverse roles women play. As a prelude to the convention, a theme based paper presentation competition is held. This year the theme was "Reflections".
Ms. Rajalakshmi bagged the Special Jury award which is one of the top three honours in the event. In total, five women employees from NTECL participated in the event and eloquently put forth their opinions on the theme. The judges of the competition also took to social media to express their appreciation for the women of NTPC.

NTPC PMI has won the First Position in 28th National Award for Innovative Training Practices - Public Sector Category. NTPC Farakka participated in the 6th Indian National Exhibition in Kolkata from 26th to 29th July, 2018 and bagged the first prize jointly with HAL.
The Flex Free NTPC pavilion depicted the growth of NTPC digitally on LED monitors. The environment friendly NTPC pavilion attracted students and other visitors and received wide appreciation. Smt. Shri K Biswal, Director (Finance), NTPC has been awarded CMA-CFO Award in the Public Sector (Manufacturing) category in recognition to the efforts made by him for application of innovative cost and management accounting techniques in work place.
The award was given by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India during its 56th Foundation Day at New Delhi. Hon'ble Justice Supreme Court Shri Deepak Misra presented the award to Shri Biswal. Ms. J M Shanti Sundaram, IRS, Chairperson, CBEC, Ministry of Finance & Shri SC Mohanty, President ICAI were present.
Shri Biswal became the Director (Finance) of Mahanadi Coal Fields Limited at a very young age of 49 years. As CFO of the company, he believes in becoming a ‘Value Creator’ who works as Strategic Business Partner with CEO. Following this principle, during his short tenure of 38 months in MCL, he strategically advocated the need for diversification beyond coal production and led the formation of Mahanadi Basin Power Limited for setting up a pit head Thermal Power Generation Plant and Neelanchal Power Transmission Company Ltd. into Transmission Business for gainful deployment of surplus fund and development of infrastructure in the State.
Shri Biswal has proven his leadership at personal, professional as well as business level. His rich and varied experience of 28 years in Corporate Finance Management particularly in Coal Sector as CFO MCL & Power Sector as CFO CERC, enabled him to take over the charge of Director (Finance), NTPC Limited, the Maharatna Company of Government of India.
In NTPC also, within a period of 6 months of joining, he has been instrumental in resolving long pending disputes with Coal India Limited, achieving the ambitious capex target of NTPC by incurring capex of Rs.21,705 crore in FY 14, raising Tax Free Bonds amounting to Rs.2250 crore, raising Foreign currency Loans of USD 350 million and closing of Accounts of NTPC for FY 14 within tight scheduled timeline.
Shri Biswal, with endearing inter personal skills, has grown to become a focused leader demonstrating unflinching determination to do whatever must be done to produce the best long-term results and inspiring his team for its contribution and taking responsibility for growth & improvement of the company.

This year the survey’s top 50 list has organizations belonging to 17 different industries with employee strength in the range of 100 to 33,000 and only 5 companies including NTPC have continuously been part of the Best Workplaces List for the last six years consistently amongst top 10 performers
The top 50 companies were awarded at a grand function in Mumbai. The other Companies to figure in the top end of the top 50 companies includes Google India Pvt Ltd, Makemytrip India, Intel Technology India, Marriott Hotels India, Net App India and American Express.
Shri R K Rustagi, Executive Director (HR & PMI), Shri N N Misra, Executive Director (HR & ER), Shri A K Bhatnagar, GM (HR & Corporate Communications) NTPC received the awards from Mr Prasenjit Bhattacharya of Great Places to Work Institute, India. NTPC has been ranked 7th overall in ‘India’s Best Companies to Work for 2010’, a study by The Great Places to Work Institute India and The Economic Times. The Company is also ranked 1st among large organizations’ with over 10,000 employees, 1st in the Public Sector Enterprises segment and 1st in the Manufacturing and Production Industry segment.

Award would be given on 2nd December, 2009 consisting of a trophy and a citation in New Delhi.
NTPC awarded for NCPEDP – Shell Helen Keller Awards 2009 in the Category'C':Companies/organiza-tions /institutions who share NCPEDP's vision and through their policies and practices demonstrate their belief in equal rights and gainful employment for persons with disabilities. Other organizations awarded in the category are IBM India Pvt. Ltd, Steel Authority of India Ltd. 7(SAIL) and WIPRO Ltd.

Awards were presented by Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Union Minister for Labour and Employment at Vigyan Bhjawan in New Delhi on September, 17, 2009.
22 NTPC employees were awarded Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar for the year 2007. 21 employees of Ramagundam and one employee from Jhanor Gandhar were awarded Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar.
In many undertakings “Suggestion Schemes” are in operation and awards are given for suggestions leading to any outstanding achievement or good performance on the part of workers in increasing productivity. VRP provides public recognition of such outstanding achievement on the part of the workers at the national level. The VRP are awarded in recognition of outstanding suggestions given by workers for improvement in quality and working conditions.

NTPC has been ranked Second in the Core Sector with Index Score of 98 out of 100 and ranked 21st in the 25 toppers list based on a survey of 8,742 respondents in 1000 organizations across 800 cities.
ONGC ranked first in the Core Sector with 100 Index Score and Infosys Technologies ranked first in the overall ratings.

Award is proposed to be presented by H.E. President of India during the inaugural ceremony of the Public Sector Day on 10th April, 2010 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
NTPC has been awarded the Gold Trophy for SCOPE Meritorious Award for Best Practices in Human Resource Management for the year 2008-09.
The Panel of Judges under the chairmanship of Justice P.N. Bhgwati unanimously decided the "SCOPE Meritorious Awards in Specialised Fields".
