    New Delhi, July 27th: NTPC has been conferred with the prestigious FICCI "Jury Commendation Certificate" under the Category "Women Empowerment". The award has been received for NTPC's flagship "Girl Empowerment Mission" Project. NTPC is the only PSU to receive the FICCI Award this year. Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Hon'ble Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs was the Chief Guest at the virtual 18th FICCI award ceremony held today.

    Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD NTPC received the certificate on behalf of the company. In his video address on receiving the award, CMD NTPC stated that this a humble, yet valuable contribution by NTPC to the national cause of gender justice and empowerment.

    GEM has been launched by NTPC to provide holistic education to girl children in the age group of 10-12 years. The programme prepares the girl child to become a well-rounded adult; instills curiosity and helps them develop better communication and social skills. Furthermore, it encourages girl children to get connected to a subject with their creative skills; develops psychological, social & emotional growth, makes learning natural, engaging, and a fun and meaningful experience.

    NTPC has been awarded India's Best Workplaces in Manufacturing 2020 -Top 30, award in Mumbai on 18th February, 2020.

    Shri A.N.Verma, ED (HR) received the award along with Shri C V Anand, RED (WR-I & SR).

  • NTPC Bags CBIP 2020 Award for its Outstanding Contribution to the Power Sector +Click for details

    NTPC Ltd. India’s largest power generation company has bagged the prestigious recognition from the Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP) 2020 award for outstanding performing utility in Thermal Power Sector on 19th February, 2020.

    The award recognises NTPC’s outstanding contribution to the Nation by setting new benchmarks in Generation and Maintenance practices, excellence in Engineering and use of latest State-of-the-art technologies and Smart Solutions.

    Shri Rattan Lal Kataria, Hon'ble Minister of State, Ministry of Jal Shakti presented the award to Shri Prakash Tiwari, Director (Operations). Shri Prakash Mhaske, Chairperson Central Electrical Authority (CEA), Shri R K Jain, Chairman, Central Water Commission and Shri V.K. kanjlia, Secretary, CBIP were present on the occasion.

    NTPC received the award for Best Use of Blended Learning at Brandon Hall Excellence Award in Learning held on 6th February, 2020 at Florida, USA.

    Dr. Dang, Head of NTPC Solapur, RLI and Shri PMGV Srinivas, Head of NTPC Talcher Kaniha, RLI received the award on behalf of NTPC.

    NTPC uses blended training combined with traditional Instructor Led training (ILT) with a mix of digital training such as e-learning, Web Conferencing, Video Conferencing; Virtual Reality based learning modules along with classroom training.   • Power Minister Felicitates NTPC Business Excellence (BE) Awardees +Click for details

    Shri R.K. Singh, Hon'ble Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power and New & Renewable Energy, felicitated winning NTPC power stations, with the much sought-after NTPC Business Excellence (BE) Awards.

    Around 22 NTPC power stations have been assessed this year, out of which five stations have been adjudged as winners by a high-level team of eminent jury members.

    The winning categories included, ‘Overall Excellence award’ won by NTPC Sipat plant, “Sustained Good Performance” awarded to NTPC Vindhyachal and NTPC Rihand stations. NTPC Singrauli & NTPC Simhadri power stations bagged the award that recognises “Consistent Improvement”.

    NTPC, India’s largest power generating company bagged 28 awards at Corporate Communication Excellence Awards 2020 and was conferred with the ‘Champion of Champions Title’ in a grand the ceremony organised during the 14th Global Communication Conclave by Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) at Bengaluru recently.

    Shri Saptarshi Roy, Director (HR), NTPC received the PRCI Chanakya Award for Best Communicator and Shri KM Prashanth, AGM (Corporate Communications) was also honoured and inducted to the PRCI Hall of Fame for the year 2019. Shri K M Prashanth, AGM(CC), was awarded the Hall of Fame award.

    Hall of fame award is given to Corporate Communications Professionals who have successfully completed three decades in the area of Corporate Communications.

    NTPC has been awarded as the Best Performing Utility of the Country in Thermal Power Sector by Central Board of Irrigation and Power(CBIP)at a function held in New Delhi on 4th January, 2019.

    Shri R.K. Singh, Minister of State I/C for Power and New & Renewable energy, GOI presented the award to Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC. ShriSaptarshi Roy, Director(HR) and Shri A.K.Gupta, Director(Commercial) NTPC were also present.

    Shri A.K. Bhalla, Secretary (Power); Shri U.P.Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation; Shri S. Masood Husain, President, CBIP & Chairman, Central Water Commission and Shri P.S. Mhaske, Vice President, CBIP & Chairperson, CEA were present on the occasion.

    NTPC was awarded overall Runners Trophy in the Conclave with IOCL winning the Champions Trophy for the year 2018. More than 60 organizations (both Private and Public) participated in the awards in various categories.

    NTPC Corporate Centre, Regions and Projects were major attraction in 13th Public Relations Conclave held on 15th to 16th February, 2019 at Jaipur. Shri Ramcharan Bora, MP, Lok Sabha, Jaipur presented the award to NTPC. In addition to that NTPC projects received.5-Gold awards, 4-silver, 2-Bronze, 2-appreciation, 1-crystal awards and 1-Runner Up in various categories. The awards were received by Corporate Communication professionals from the respective Business Units/Regions. Corporate Centre Awards were received by Shri V.K. Sharma, Manager (CC).During the conclave, various new and current trends in communications, advertising and PR were highlighted.

    Shri A.N.Verma, ED (HR), NTPC Limited, was conferred the prestigious Business Communication & HR Excellence Award at the 13th Global Communication Conclave of Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) at Jaipur on 15th February, 2019.The Chanakya Award was presented by Shri Sunil Arora, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India in recognition of his immense contribution towards building brand NTPC.

    NTPC team represented by Shri Raviteja G, Sr. Manager(PE-C&I),Nitin Gangwar, Sr. Manager (QA), Shri Abhay Anand, Dy. Manager(PE-C&I) emerged as runner up at the 2nd Young Managers Simulation Championship on 28th February, 2019.

    The team from NTPC performed exceedingly well to ward of a stiff challenge from a very impressive and qualitative lineup at the finale to emerge amongst the Top 3 teams in the competition.

    NTPC has been awarded for the category - World Class PSE Excellence in Asia for its leadership and most efficient power utility in the country at the 5th Indian Public Sector Awards 2019 held on 1st February 2019 in New Delhi.

    Shri Rabindra K Jena, Hon'ble MP, Lok Sabha(Balasore) and Ms. Neera Shastri, Daughter-in-Law of Former Prime Minister of India, Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri gave the award to Shri C.V. Anand, ED (OS), NTPC in presence of power sector veterans.

    Hindustan Uravarak and Rasayan Limited (HURL) a joint venture company of CIL, NTPC, IOCL as the lead promoters with FCIL and HFCL as other two partners, was also awarded for its Path Breaking Innovations impacting Agricultural Economy-Neem Coated Urea. Shri A.K. Gutpa, CEO, HURL received the award from the dignitaries.

    NTPC emerged as National Champions in PSU category in 3rd National Competition for Managers (NCM) organized by All India Management Association (AIMA) on 25th February, 2019.     NTPC Kawas has bagged first prize of the National Energy Conservation Award-2017 in Gas Power Station Category and NTPC- Mouda has bagged Second prize at National Energy Conservation Award-2017 in thermal Power Station Category.

    Hon'ble the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind presented the award during the National Energy Conservation Day function held in New Delhi on today 14th December,2017. The award was received by Shri C V Subramanian, General Manager (Kawas Gas Power Project) for excellence in Energy Conservation and Management.

    Shri R. K Singh, Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power and New & Renewable Energy and Secretary to Govt. of India, Ministry of Power and senior officials of the Ministry and Bureau of Energy Efficiency were present on the occasion.

    NTPC the largest Power utility of the country was felicitated for its contribution towards Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan on Nov. 2, 2015. Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon'ble Minister of State, Independent Charge for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy honored Shri A. K. Jha, CMD , NTPC for championing the cause of Swachh Bharat by successfully constructing toilets across17 States covering 83 districts more than 650 blocks of the country. Shri P K Pujari Secretary (Power), Shri Anil Swarup, Secretary(Coal) , Shri U Tripathy, Secretary (New & Renewable Energy), Dr S.C.Khuntia, Secretary ( Deptt of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of HRD) were also present on the occasion.

    NTPC's Regional Executive Directors, senior EDs and officials of the CSR team were also felicitated and honored in the programme for the selfless contribution through shear hard work and exemplary dedication for achieving the target of Swachh Vidyalaya. Despite challenges “Team NTPC” met the target and completed more than 29000 toilets.

    Nodal officers for the program from all PSUs under the Ministry of Power, Coal and New and Renewable Energy were also felicitated.

    NTPC bagged the Best Performing Thermal Power Utility award of CBIP. Shri A.K. Jha, Director (Technical) received the award from Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Prof. Sanwar Lal Jat at a function held in New Delhi.

    NTPC is the largest power utility of the country. With addition of 15 MW Solar PV Power Station at Singrauli, the total capacity of non-conventional energy projects of NTPC has become 110 MW and the total installed capacity has increased to 43803 MW.

    The award was received on behalf of NTPC by Shri N. K. Sharma, ED(CP) and Shri A. K. Gupta, GM(BD) on 2nd November, 2010 in Singapore.

    NTPC Ltd earned a ranking of 52 on overall global performance. NTPC Limited ranked No. 1 in Independent Power Producer & Energy Traders in Asia. 10th in overall performance in Asia. 2nd Independent Power Producers and Energy Traders globally. The company rankings are derived using a special Platts formula adding each company's numerical ranking for asset worth, revenues, profits, and ROIC and assigned a rank of 1 to the company with the lowest total, 2 to the company with the second-lowest total, and so on. Earnings per share figures were not included in the ranking calculation because some companies are privately held.
