“NTPC Vindhyachal a Role Model for Quality Initiatives” Wins National Award on Economics of Quality for the 4th time in a row

NTPC-Vindhyachal- the largest power station of India is excelling in Operational front with consistent PLF of more than 93% , its outstanding commitment towards Quality Initiatives is reaffirmed once again on receiving the National Award on Economics of Quality for the 4th time in a row in the public sector category.
The Commendation Award for the case study ‘Performance Optimization of Condenser Vacuum in Unit-10 through DMAIC approach’ was given to the Vindhyachal team of young Engineers by Prof Masaaki Imai Chairman Kaizen Institute Tokyo, during the glittering inaugural session of 5th Quality Conclave held at LeMerdian New Delhi on 19th Feb, 2010.
The QCI-D.L.Shah Award has been instituted by Quality Council of India (QCI) with a view to establish that bottom line benefits are achieved through Quality Initiatives. The award recognizes successful improvement projects of an organization that have linked quality initiatives to real financial gains and competitiveness.
QCI is an autonomous body set up by the Government of India jointly with the Indian industry premiers ASSOCHAM, CII & FICCI.
