Energy cooperation begins between India and Bangladesh

A Power Purchase Agreement between NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Ltd. and Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) signed in New Delhi marks the beginning of Energy Cooperation (Electricity) between the two Nations. 250 MW of power will be exported to Bangladesh out of the unallocated quota of power available with the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
The PPA for supply of 250 MW to Bangladesh was signed in the august presence of Secretary (Power), Government of India, Secretary (Power), Government of Bangladesh, CMD, NTPC and Chairman, BPDB and senior officials of Ministry of Power and both the orgnaisations.
This is a landmark event for both India and Bangladesh marking the beginning of Energy Cooperation (Electricity) between the two Nations.
